T-Pain has created a new independent record label called Nappy Boy Digital.
Nappy Boy Digital will connect with the consumer through non-tradition means. They will directly deliver new music to the customer online through digital downloads.
"Nappy Boy Digital is a dream come true for me. I'm excited about bringing music by new artists to people fresh out of the studio," said T-Pain commenting on the venture. "My life and career so far has been about breaking barriers and this label allows me to continue that by delivering hit songs in real time, no red tape, just good music. Announced today by L.A. Reid, Chairman of Island Def Jam Music Group, Jay Z's replacement will be Shakir Stewart. Stewart will now hold down the title of Executive Vice President.
Stewart will be be based in the Atlanta and New York office. He will report directly to L.A. Reid. In his new post, Stewart will assume overall responsibility for the day to day activities of the Def Jam label, including the acquisition and development of new talent, overseeing producers and guiding the creative vision and brand recognition of the legendary label.

Good Girl Gone Bad Rihanna was on the bill to perform, but decided she had better things to do by attending the MTV Movie Awards in Los Angeles with boyfriend Chris Brown.
Kanye was schedule to close out the event, but Hot 97 had other plans by having Jim Jones close out the event. And ya' boy Kanye went off, saying who is Jim Jones, he's nobody! When Kanye discovered Jim was at the event he song another tune by getting on Hot 97 and laying off of Jim. Straight ego trippin'.
