According to TMZ, Rapper B.G was in Milwaukee, WI. on September 27th. performing at a nite club called 618. He was introduced to a female which whom he left the club with.

Well the next day Mr. Hot Boy woke up with no wallet or his diamond necklace. There were a few minor items that were stolen as well. The authorities were called,but the young lady hasnt been arrested yet.

Tony Yayo recently talked about why he believe G-Unit’s joint album TOS Flopped:
“Ain’t no love in the industry,” Yayo added, addressing the reception to the G-Unit group effort T.O.S. “You just have to be business-orientated. T.O.S. was a good album. The streets loved it. It wasn’t commercial. And basically, it’s something on the catalog; we go to the next project. I feel like a new artist right now. I feel like we’re starting all over.” Yayo said that the low sales for Terminate on Sight have only driven the Unit’s captain to make some of his best work to date. The N*E*R*D hitmaker was baffled to suddenly field emails from a wannabe musician desperate to work with him - so he traced them back to Diddy’s Sean John fashion label.A source tells the New York Post, “A Sean John employee got his hands on Pharrell Williams’ e-mail address somehow. He e-mailed Pharrell so many times asking if they could work together, but Pharrell had no idea who the person writing to him was.” A representative for Combs confirms the story to the Post - but insists the star wasn’t involved: “Diddy was not made aware of this incident. A staff member was contacted, and they handled it internally.”

He knocked out rap mogul Suge Knight, and now Greg the Barber is seeking an opponent to battle on Nov. 15 at the Marple Sports Arena. Damon Feldman's Celebrity Boxing Promotions is offering $2,500 to the man chosen to fight Greg the Barber, who beat down Knight, Death Row Records founder, in May outside a Los Angeles nightclub.

Singer Christina Milian has signed a new deal with MySpace Records, where she will release a new album in spring 2009, reports Billboard.com.

The first single from the impending album is "Us Against The World." It will make its worldwide premiere on MySpace.com on October 6, and be made available for digital purchase the following day. Click Here For More...

"I am so excited to be a part of the MySpace family," Milian told Billboard. "They represent the future of the music industry and for me as a musician, it's important to align myself with a label that allows me to be very much a part of the process. I wrote most of the record myself, worked with producers who I had a connection with and they (MySpace) have supported me as an artist every step of the way."

The singer worked with Madd Scientist on the lead single, while other production duties were handled by T-Pain, Cool & Dre, Jim Jonsin, Toby Gad and Danja. As far as guests, Kanye West is currently the only collaboration revealed, but Milian says there are some potential collaborative surprises coming.

Milian was previously signed to Def Jam, but left the label in 2006 a month after the release of her third studio album So Amazin'. It sold just 163,000 copies, resulting in her being dropped, rumors indicate.

Now, with a new deal in place, she sees the deal with MySpace as a fresh start.

"I have a lot of support from my peers. I have lots of people that love me and want the best for me," said Milian. "Sometimes things don't work out the right way, but I know I work my butt off on my end. As long as you know you worked hard, you feel accomplished. Thankfully, I took the time off to check out what's going on and now I'm back, and MySpace is allowing me to do tons of different things creatively."

In the meantime, Milian is still doing her acting thing. She is set to appear in the movie "The Ghosts of Girlfriends," starring Matthew McConaughey, in February, and is currently filming the latest installment of the "Bring It On" franchise.

R&B singer Montell Jordan has issued the first single from his forthcoming album "Let It Rain," due in stores in October.

"On 'Left Alone,' I'm talking about the music business and how I felt after being in it so long, and how I felt she treated me. It sounds like I'm talking about a girl but it is a metaphor about the record industry."

Beyonce's hit single "Upgrade U" has some truth to it according to Hip Hop star/actor 50 Cent.

With Beyonce' on his arm though, Jay-Z could be seen as getting an 'upgrade' or two depending on who you ask since Beyonce' is now a household name worldwide.

Attacking Jay-Z's reported $1 billion worth, 50 Cent says "I don’t believe he’s worth that much! It’s all been exaggerated."

Hip-Hop mogul Jay-Z and Iconix Brand Group, owner of Rocawear Clothing, are being sued in federal court on copyright infringement charges. The case was filed last Thursday (September 18) in Georgia Northern District Court by I Will Not Lose, LLC, a company claiming that Iconix Brand Group and Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, adopted the exact same “I Will Not Lose” trademark. Last March, Jay-Z sold the rights for Rocawear to Iconix Brand Group for $204 million. Last year, Rocawear launched an international “I Will Not Lose Campaign,” (www.iwillnotlose.org) where stars such as Chris Brown and Ciara gave accounts of how they overcame personal challenges before reciting the trademarked phrase “I Will Not Lose.” I Will Not Lose, LLC (www.iwillnotlose.net) CEO Reggie Tucker alleges in the lawsuit that his company trademarked the brand first and were subsequently ignored throughout 2007 after attempts were made to settle the matter out of court. The plaintiff is seeking an undisclosed amount of damages for the dilution of their trademark. At press time calls to attorneys representing I Will Not Lose, LLC were not returned and Jay-Z could not be reached for comment.

Dubcnn: For those of us who may not be familiar with you, give us a little intro on the Arabian Prince.

I go by the name of the Arabian Prince, aka Professor X; old school west coast electro music producer/artist and founding member of the rap group N.W.A. I produced hits for Bobby Jimmy and the Critters, J.J. Fad(Supersonic) and a lot of the early west coast groups.


Dubcnn: What were you doing prior to joining NWA?

Back before N.W.A I was one of the early DJ's on the west coast and helped to start the West Coast Electro movement. I came up doing DJ sets at schools, small clubs and roller skating rinks in Compton and around LA with Egyptian Lover, Dr. Dre, DJ Yella, Unknown DJ and a lot of other west coast DJ's


Dubcnn: How did NWA come together from your standpoint, as far as everyone getting connected?

I used to do a lot of shows with Dr. Dre when he was in the World Class Wreckin Kru back in the early to mid 80's; we used to hang out and chase girls at the beach and work on a lot of tracks. One day Dre mentioned that he was tired of doing the same old music and not really getting the money he thought he was worth, and I agreed to that. He said he had met Eazy, who had some money and wanted to start a label, and was wondering if we could help out. We sat down with Eazy and it was a wrap! Ice Cube used to live down the street from Dre and was in a group called C.I.A at the time. So, when we put the thing together, Ice Cube came along.


Dubcnn: What were those early recording sessions like?

The early sessions were fun, but long hours. I remember sometimes we would stay in the studio for days at a time, but we always had a good time recording the hits. We used a studio in Torrance called Audio Achievements.


Dubcnn: You left NWA just before Staight Outta Compton came out. Why?

A lot of people ask me that, and it is simple: I was the only member who had a solo career before the group, and I knew how much money we were supposed to be getting. We were not getting paid right and I was not about to get ripped off a second time, so I bounced. Biz is biz and I knew I would make more money as a solo artist; fame ain't shit when you not gettin paid.


Dubcnn: No doubt! What were your thoughts on the response and attention that were soon garnered by N.W.A? Was there a sense of resentment, or second thoughts about leaving the group?

No resentment at all! I was cool and still am cool with everyone. As I said, biz is biz, and the same reason I left eventually became the downfall of the group.


Dubcnn: Being that you were the first one to bounce, what did you make of the subsequent N.W.A "break-Up"? Did you see that coming?

Yes, I did. If you are selling millions of records, but don't have the millions to show for it, are you just gonna hang around just because you got a name and fame? I think not, you’re gonna wise up, bounce and get paid.


Dubcnn: Were you around for the Fila Fresh Crew, and if so, can you tell us how they became involved with the N.W.A & The Posse project?

Let me clear that one up for you, the N.W.A and the Posse record was a bootleg put out by our former record distributor Macola Records; the other groups on there like the Fila Fresh Crew were just thrown on there to make it an album. The only record ever put out officially was just called N.W.A and it was an EP.


Dubcnn: Do you have any contact with Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, Yella or D.O.C.?

I talk to Yella mostly; Dre, Cube and D.O.C. very rarely, only if I bump into them somewhere. I talk to Ren, he is working on new music right now.


Dubcnn: When Eazy passed, what was going on in your life at that time, and did you go by and visit him?

I saw Eazy the week before he went into the hospital at Yella's Birthday party. It was strange because he didn't look sick at all. I was out on tour in Europe when he passed away so I did not get a chance to see him.


Dubcnn: What are your thoughts on Eazy and his impact on rap music?

Eazy was the homie! He had an idea to make street music and it worked big time! I think he will always be remembered for his contribution to rap and hip-hop.


Dubcnn: Do you have any memories from that moment in time that you'd like to share with us; about Eazy, Dre or Cube or something that we might not know?

I can just remember the impact that N.W.A had on the world back then, it was a crazy time for us because we had the government, the police, and gangs all coming at us, just for doing funky music and telling it like it is. I can remember there was a time we could not even get off of an airplane without a terminal full of police waiting for us.


Dubcnn: That’s crazy! Tell us what kinds of things you’re doing now?

Stones Throw Records just released my anthology this month, so I guess I am back in the scene. I am also finishing up a Professor X album, which is my alter ego name. The sound is more of a Kraftwerk-style, and I am working on My Funky Lil Anime animated hip-hop group project.


Dubcnn: Tell us a lil' bit about your new project.

Back in the 80's I released a song called Professor X (Saga). It was a pretty big single around the world, and I recently put out a second single called Statix, which did well also. So, because of the fan base for Professor X, I am releasing an album in a few months called Electro Funk Xperiment.

Rapper Busta Rhymes bears no animosity towards his former record label boss Dr. Dre, insisting they will "always be good."

The Touch It hit-maker - real name Trevor Smith - announced he was walking away from his Aftermath/Interscope Records contract last week, in favor of Universal Motown records. Rhymes signed to Dre's Aftermath label in 2004, but four years on, his album Blessed had still yet to be released. Click Here For More...


The label split is rumored to have been the result of a dispute between the star and Interscope boss Jimmy Iovine over the constant album delays. However during a New York radio interview this week, Rhymes claimed he and Dre will remain close, despite the label mess.

He told Hot 97's DJ Envy, "Me and Dre are still good. So even though I'm not in business with Aftermath or Interscope, I'm still with Aftermath. Me and Dre are always gonna be good." And Rhymes took the opportunity to poke fun at his old label executives for providing him with the singles We Made It and Don't Touch Me (Throw Da Water On 'Em).

He added: "Big up to Interscope for, you know, giving me the leaked joints and the set-ups. Now we gonna consider those the leaked joints." Rhymes will now release his highly-anticipated new album on Universal, and has changed the title to B.O.M.B. (Back On My Bulls**t).

Alicia Keys is feeling the brunt of anti-American sentiment from none other than Oasis singer Noel Gallagher.

"A bunch of "f***ing Americans," says Gallagher who slammed Alicia Keys' collaboration with Jack White on "Another Way To Die" a track created for the new James Bond flick Quantum of Solace.

Keys is not the first 'f***ing American' to be attacked by the Oasis' singer who was recently hospitalized. Gallagher was at the center of Jay-Z's controversial appearance at Glastonbury earlier this year where the singer repeatedly disapproved of the Hip Hop star's headlining of the popular festival.

Quantum of Solace is due in theaters Nov. 14.

Rapper LUDACRIS has lost part of his Atlanta, Georgia home after a raging fire rampaged through the mansion on Wednesday night (24Sep08). Atlanta fire officials have confirmed they were called to a property belonging to the rapper and battled for 30 minutes to extinguish the blaze which completely destroyed the property’s pool house. The star was not staying at the home when the fire began, but a relative was in the basement of the main property and escaped uninjured. The fire is under investigation as the cause could not be immediately determined.

R&B crooner Joe (aka Joe Thomas) has cleared up the reasoning behind his decision to come forward about the much-hyped 'R. Kelly' record situation as reported last month. Click Here For More...


"I would never try to stop him from getting his" says the singer who has been called 'the Casanova Crooner' in recent years.

In August Joe discussed his departure from Jive, also home to R. Kelly, and surprisingly told EURweb.com that Kelly had attempted to hold back his music, going as far as telling radio stations "Hey, this Joe record is too hot right now. Ya’ll need to pull that back.' And they would oblige."

Acknowledging the past while moving forward with his new album "Joe Thomas, New Man," the "Why Just Be Friends" singer received backlash from music fans and critics shortly after the news who asked why he chose to air out his grievances after so many years.

In a recent interview with ParkerBoyz.com, Joe said it was not difficult to come forward with the information but says he is not trying to come across as a disgruntled artist.

"To be clear, I’m definitely not trying to sound like a disgruntled artist."

"My whole point was that we all are in this game so I’m not trying to step over your fence and vice-versa, so let’s just stop, do what we gotta do and be respectful to each other when it comes to trying to get it happening.”

Well I’m a Bay Area rapper. Some would call me along the lines of, they say a living legend. I’ve been doing it for 15 years in the Bay Area but independently without calling myself a legend. I’ve just been rapping since I was 15 years old. I’ve put out 8 solo albums. I’ve sold over 250,000 units myself with San Quinn records along with collaborations like Messy Marv and San Quinn, San Quinn & Black and Brown Entertainment and I’m here in 2008, still pushing


Dubcnn: Gotcha. As you mentioned you’ve released quite a few projects independently and I know you’ve had some exposure to a major label in ’96 with “The Hustle Continues” project. What did you take away from that experience and do you ever envision a situation where you might go back to a major label situation?

I think about that situation every day because I would be a lie to say that I didn’t want to succeed at a major label correctly. Master P succeeded and we didn’t…we were on the other side of the coin and quote unquote failed and had to remain independent that sh*t hurt. But I’m rapping with that chip on my shoulder. I still want national and international stardom but now it’s going to have to be on another financial level because I couldn’t go back to being a 10% artist who couldn’t have my skateboard and couldn’t have the energy drinks in the record stores and all the sh*t that I got while rapping, you feel me?


Dubcnn: Yeah. I want to talk a little bit about that business savvy that you just mentioned. I unearthed an article from a couple of years ago that said you were going to challenge yourself to become a better businessman. How are you progressing in terms of being a businessman?

I can honestly say that I am doing better. And I can always get sharper and be more punctual but I am definitely making moves and everything has a sense of urgency behind it. Like I didn’t even mean to put off your interview for however many minutes, you did what I’m saying? But everything must be taken care of because I am a new artist whether I am old or new…I’m new like ‘n*gga you could fall off’ like one of these new n*ggas, you dig? Or you could fall off like one of these old n*ggas.

But maintaining the status of being relevant is the main thing that I’ve been doing. Through my business the sense of urgency is what makes me relevant and because I’m knocking it out when I show up.


Dubcnn: We’re definitely going to get into some music things but what business ventures do you have outside of music right now?

Right now I have the San Quinn skateboard jumping off. The company that I’m working with has stores in Japan and in San Francisco. They might have another store somewhere else in the world because that’s just how their rocking but they are based out of San Francisco. My partner Kent had the store for 20 years and hip hop and skating kinda go hand in hand especially with Frisco being diverse. I might live next door to my white partner who rides skateboards but we selling crack or playing basketball and going to church and that’s just how Frisco is.

Being that I had friends already in the skateboard world, ex-taggers an sh*t it wasn’t hard for Kent to say, ‘We should do a deck with you.’ And I’ve never had anything against kids and skating because I’m more against kids carrying guns and trying to slay each other. So whether they call it ‘square’ or ‘white’ there are millionaires being made off of skateboarding, ya dig what I’m saying? Black, white and Latino so it was cool. So, I have the skateboard going on and I’ve sold 2000 – 3000 decks at $50 a piece. We split the profit, me and the company .

I also have a Hip Hop Fight Federation that I am trying to get going. You know how they have the Iron Ring? I’m trying to get that going for the West Coast with my partner James Gordon. And something that he has going that I am a part of is called June Bay Prep where we are helping young people who are less fortunate. No color barriers but preferably Black and Latino because we are lacking in schooling and college. We aren’t going at an alarming rate. So with June Bay Prep I’m going to send kids to college, bottom line.


Dubcnn: Nice

And I’m going to help them with housing but you gotta qualify because I’m not sending a jackass to school. June Bay in Swahili means “To Pass The Torch”.


Dubcnn: Nice. And that leads me into what I was going to ask you next. In that same article you said…essentially you seem to be very community minded and you were talking about the possibility of talking to the Mayor (of San Francisco) about how Hip Hop can have a positive effect on the community. So what other types of things are you doing…obviously what you are doing with the school is huge but is there anything else that you are doing in terms of the community?

Well I just shot this video for my song ‘San Francisco’ we have this album coming out before my solo drops and its called “All City Four-One-Fiva”. It’s a group with me Big Rich and Boo Bang and the rest of the rappers in San Francisco. It’s not a compilation…people try to pass it off as a compilation but it’s really a union among San Francisco rappers. Nothing against anybody from anywhere else. So that’s one thing I have going on. We just spent a nice amount of money and shot a good video for the “San Francisco Anthem” song and we’ve been getting a little play on MTV Jams and it’s on Youtube. I’m showing that Black people do exist in San Francisco. I had people around each other that wanted to kill each other, and they still do but for the sake of the video and the movement to have Black people and Latino people recognized in San Francisco we were able to do that video.

He’s going to have to recognize me. Gavin Newsome (San Francisco Mayor) can go around me…they have still been giving me problems. They say I have a hit out on me or that I did a mob hit because one of my good friends was at a party and was killed at my party at The Independent. He was in the Witness Protection Program and I didn’t know that but their trying to act like I knew that. I hate to hear that the friend I grew up with was in the Witness Protection Program but I don’t have anything I can tell them so why would I allow a hit to happen? And the dude that did the hit is dead and they are still pressing the issue on me. Somebody gets shot at a club and they want to bring up San Quinn or say I was there. Just all the bullsh*t.

And with the positive moves that I’m making and the things that I am doing and how powerful hip hop is economically in New York and in Atlanta…and these people say that they need money for their city and they have potholes and sh*t, how could they not tap into me? It would really open up the economic doors for hip hop in San Francisco instead of trying to go around them. They know that we make enough money to be richer than Gavin Newsome in four or five years, you hear what I’m sayin’?


Dubcnn: So transitioning a little bit, what is the best piece of advice that someone has ever given you?

To believe in God and have faith in God. Think positive. Talk positive. I got a mouth that speaks what my heart is filled with, right? And I’m a good man and I bring a good treasure and that’s what I want to be around. That’s it. Somebody just told me to stay at it and stay thanking God and stay positive.


Dubcnn: What is your greatest strength and tell me why

My greatest strength is that I am really into music. I’m really into not having a weak verse on an album. Feel what I’m sayin’?


Dubcnn: So consistency pretty much

That’s it, that’s it. I’m not going to be the reason why my team lost. Let it be somebody else. At least not on the rap tip. And once again I say as I try to elevate myself on the business level where my business is going to be together I ‘m not going to be the reason that my team loses.


Dubcnn: So speaking of the music tip, tell us about your upcoming projects. When can we expect this and when is it dropping? Give us a little heads up on what’s going on.

The ‘All City Four-One-Fiva’ is out on August 20th. That’s the group album the brand new GLP album if anybody is familiar with that. It’s me, Big Rich and Boo Banga, Kelly Mac, Tha Gamblaz and a multitude of others. I don’t like to accidentally leave people out. Sef the Gaffla and Lil’ Quinn and a bunch of people. That’s coming out August 20th.

Then we have my brand new solo album, “From A Boy To A Man” coming out September 26th through SMC/Universal. We’re gonna have a good year. We’re gonna rock.


Dubcnn: Nice. Lil’ Quinn is your son, right?

Yeah, my son Lil’ Quinn. His video is up right now on myspace and Zaki is my son that’s his brother. But Lil’ Quinn’s video is up right now on myspace. Children are the future and we are trying to take him to another level with it.


Dubcnn: Is it hard…I mean I’m sure your son got the desire from his father so is it hard to see your son go through things? Does he ever get discouraged and you have to keep his confidence up? How does that work?

He just wonders why certain sh*t ain’t a certain way. He asks, ‘Why you ain’t on TV?’ You know, all the things that a kid is going to ask. I explain to him about some of the mishaps. Like how I was a teenage father with him and I was doing all that at 19 years old since I been with his mother and we are still together. So raising a family, that’s sacrifice in itself. So, first of all I tell him to keep his weeny in his pants, you know, as long he can. Also ‘Business is Business’ because you don’t get lucky, you’re prepared when your time comes. I’m just preparing him.

Keyshia Cole seems to be going through a 'breakthrough' of her own on her third studio album due later this year.

Sitting down with TV One over the weekend, Cole says "I'm not talkin'about being so...heartbroken." Click Here For More...

Cole's major hits have all been about the ups and downs of love from "Love" to "I Should Have Cheated" to "Let It Go" and "I Remember," Cole has in many ways followed the path of one of her influences -- Mary J. Blige.

"If I could walk in her footsteps just a quarter of the mile that she has already walked, it would be a blessing fulfilled" says Cole.

Just like Mary did when she introduced us to "The Breakthrough" a few years back, Keyshia says its time for something different when it comes to her forthcoming album.

"It's time to lighten up and have a good time for this album" says the Grammy-nominated singer.

While she's staying 'mum' about her album in terms of producers, collaborations and so forth, Cole does admit she plans to "let it go" in five years to focus on becoming a wife, a mother and possibly a veterinarian.

Keyshia Cole's third studio album is slated for release later this year.

LL Cool J had a few words for Jessica Simpson this week, according to sources close to the Hip Hop star who released his latest album 'Exit 13' last Tuesday.

Simpson's new album "Do You Know," which happens to be the pop star's first foray into Country music, outsold LL Cool J's album by roughly 20,000 copies, sending the star into a bout of outrage.

A source close to LL Cool J's label told MSNBC, "LL is furious. He was so angry at one point that he was beaten by Jessica...he actually threatened to quit rap." Click Here For More...


Shortly after this information was released, a rep for LL Cool J released a statement saying the star has no plans to quit now.

The veteran rapper's album 'Exit 13,' which landed at no.9 on this week's Billboard Hot Albums Chart, marks his last Def Jam recording under the current contract according to reports. The "Baby" star also released a new clothing line through Sears entitled "LL Cool J For Sears" this month.

R. Kelly set the record straight for the first and last time Tuesday, telling fans and critics alike "It's time to move on."

Admitting that he was nervous "as hell" during the child pornography trial this summer, Kelly credits his family, fans, faith and prayers for getting him through what he says was the most difficult experience of his life thus far -- "It was hell and I wouldn't wish it on nobody."

"[Sometimes] what you go through can feed the passion" Kelly said when asked about his success with The Chocolate Factory, Happy People/U Saved Me, TP-3: Reloaded, and Double Up, albums that were all released during his legal battle.

"Some people fall off but I chose not to do that, I chose to just pull myself together and get over these humps" he recalls.

Since the release of "The Chocolate Factory" in 2003, Kelly has been on three nationwide tours, has released four well received albums with sales of over ten million copies and has also sold a number of DVD's from the popular "Trapped In The Closet" series.

With all of the aforementioned success Kelly has no plans to stop. "I'm not gonna allow this to make me run under a rock and not do my job" he says.

In addition to the legal charges, Kelly has also been attacked by former employees and even his own brother in recent years. All parties have called the singer out for allegedly having a problem -- seeking teenage girls.

"Those people don't know Robert, they don't know me" said the singer, responding to his brother's claims and the allegations that he had an affair with his former publicist's daughter which he linked to them being disgruntled after being fired.

At one point the "Hairbraider" singer seemed baffled by the host's "underage girl" question to which he asked the host to clarify how young is young.

"I have some friends that are 19" ended up being his response to the question, later insisting that he doesn't like anyone underage or illegal.

Regardless of what the future may hold for the singer/songwriter who was acquitted of 14 counts of child pornography this summer, Kelly is sure of two things. Number one, the singer proclaims that his style will not change, there will be no watered down R.Kelly records -- "No different than a fireman running to a fire, no matter how big the blaze is ... I'm not going to let this effect my gift."

Number two, the Platinum-selling star vowed on BET to never speak about this case again, at one point telling BET host Toure' "this interview will never happen again."

"It's time for me to move on, I can't keep answering questions."

"If you were charged with something and you were found innocent then you can't be found guilty for being found innocent."

Performing live in Albany, New York, Curtis Jackson aka 50 Cent performed the first verse of West's "Love Lockdown" before cutting the song short to say "That's what ya'll are left with, I'll forgive ya'll for that one" said the rapper who was clearly referencing their sales battle last year.

At this time Fifty and Kanye's release dates do not match up as 50 Cent's new album "Before I Self Destruct" is due December 9th, while West's album 808's & Heartbreak is reportedly set for December 16th. As with many release dates this year, the dates are tentative and are likely to change.

"Before I Self Destruct" is expected to be 50 Cent's last album which the rapper proclaimed just prior to releasing "Curtis" last year.

50 Cent is expected to release his lead single within weeks.

Rapper Lil Wayne has signed a new deal to keep him at Cash Money Records - the label that launched him when he was just 12 years old.

AP: Where were you artistically when you started working on the album?

Ne-Yo: To be honest, I was confused. I knew I wanted to take it to the next step, the next level. And for the life of me, I didn't know how I could do that while staying in my urban boundaries. And then I realized, "I gotta step outta my urban boundaries. I gotta come out of urban, and you know, venture out and listen to some different stuff. Gather some inspirations in order to take this next step." So that's what I did. I started listening to a lot of old pop music like the Beatles, and Elton John, Billy Joel and Phil Collins. Stuff like that.

AP: Did you ever want to do the kind of R&B that 1990s groups like Jodeci, Shai and Silk did?

Ne-Yo: I definitely had a respect for that kind of R&B. That was an era when I thought R&B was real. 'Cause for a minute R&B was very phony.

AP: What do you mean?

Ne-Yo: I don't wanna name any names right now. You're gonna get me in trouble. But you know what I'm talking about. There was an era when R&B wasn't hot. ... The whole hip-hop/R&B era just kinda threw me for a loop. Around early 2000 when every song kinda sounded like (one note repeated). Like for real, one note the whole song? That never made sense to me. 'Cause like, if you're gonna rap — rap. If you're gonna sing — sing. Don't try to do this combination hybrid of the two of them that sounds like (garbage). I didn't dig it. I just never got into it.

AP: And that made you do what?

Ne-Yo: That made me go back to my roots. That made me go back to the R&B I grew up listening to. The New Editions. The Boyz II Mens. Even farther back. The Temptations. The Billy Oceans and Smokey Robinsons. That type of thing. Where it was more about melodies and lyrics that actually had something to say. So I went back to that. So that's where inspiration for the first record came from. And we was real scared with the first record 'cause it didn't sound like what was going on with the radio at the time. Everybody was very much hip-hop/R&B. Everybody was very much Ciara- and Sean Garretted-out. No disrespect to Sean Garrett (writer of Ciara's debut single "Goodies"), but I think he kind of fathered that era. And it was a cool little era for what it was. But it wasn't necessarily for me.

AP: What part of your music do you feel is really under-appreciated?

Ne-Yo: I honestly don't feel that it's my music that's under-appreciated. I think that it's me that's under-appreciated. As an artist, period. 'Cause I look at it like — OK, two multiplatinum albums. Yeah. Grammy. Two years in the game. I won my first Grammy off my second album, right? Multiple, multiple No. 1s for myself and for other people. However, (I've) never seen the cover of Vibe magazine. Never seen the cover of People magazine. Never seen the cover of, you know, Rolling Stone magazine. And won't. 'Cause these people feel that for whatever reason, because I'm a fully functional adult and not a heroin addict, that I won't sell magazines.

AP: Who does the business want you to be?

Ne-Yo: Everybody wants me to be the (guy) who's (sleeping with) every celebrity woman in the industry. Everybody wants me to be this (guy) in the club, popping 17 bottles just because. Everybody wants me to be Diddy, and that's not me.

AP: You're always the nice guy on songs. There has to be a bad guy that you want to show off, right?

Ne-Yo: Yeah. And it's not that I haven't tried. But management, (the) label — they feel that I've created this image for myself, this box for myself. And they want to keep me in this box. And I've told them, "Y'all don't understand there's so much more to me that you're not allowing me to show the world. Maybe if y'all allowed me to show these other sides of me, then (people) would pay more attention to me instead of saying, 'Oh, Ne-Yo. Oh great music, great songwriter — what's Little Wayne doing?'"

Hit making producer Swizz Beatz says he can no longer ignore rumors about an alleged tryst he had with R&B star Alicia Keys.

Putting finishing touches on his forthcoming album "Life After The Party," Beatz has received mixed reception from a song on the album entitled "That Oprah."

Referencing Oprah's wealth in comparison to Tiger Woods and Michael Jordan, Beatz raps "You know when they, when they know you got the paper, they be looking real funny."

R&B singer Kelis plans to sue police after a judge cleared her of charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. The "Milkshake" hitmaker was held in March last year and accused of shouting abuse at two undercover police officers in Miami, Florida.

But the case will not go to trial, as Judge Antonio Arzola threw out the charges on Friday after ruling there was no evidence against the star.

Kelis' lawyer Ira Loewy tells E! News website, "The only basis for granting her a judgment acquittal is if there's no evidence whatsoever a jury could find her guilty. In this case, you can't arrest someone for questioning police authority or protesting an action. She was engaged in a constitutionally protected right to protest this police action."

The lawyer added: "We'll draft a civil rights complaint and hopefully get this filed within the next few weeks or couple of months. She was detained illegally, and her rights under the Fourth and First Amendment were violated. She was slandered by the police press releases that came out. It was totally given out to attack her reputation... and was totally false."

NEW YORK (AP) - With his latest CD, LL Cool J is readying his exit and preparing for his future at the same time.

"Exit 13" is his 13th CD and final official album for Def Jam records, which has been his label home for 23 years. But LL is hardly about to leave the music industry, despite his success in film and other areas. The 40-year-old says he feels rejuvenated, and credits fellow Queens rapper 50 Cent, who is a producer on the album, with teaching him a new way to approach his music. AP: What's different about "Exit 13" compared to your past 12 records?

LL Cool J: As far as the difference between this record and the last couple of albums, it's light years away. The last couple of albums, I was making those records in two or three months. This record took two years. I don't know if people can really grasp how big of a difference that is. ... It's like the idea of training for a fight for two weeks, or training for a fight for six months. It's that kind of a difference. And I think that musically it reflects that.

AP: Did 50 Cent produce this record?

LL Cool J: I actually ended up executive producing "Exit 13," but 50 did executive produce an album for me; I have a whole album I did with 50. I only used like three or four songs for this album. Working with 50 was inspiring. You have to realize I had no reason to be hungry. When you're the best at something for a long time, and you make albums in a couple months and they're still going gold or selling a million records ... and you're making a living in films and stuff, it affects the music. But watching 50 crouch over that notebook and seeing him bounce back and forth in the studio, that inspired me and made me hungry again. And it made me want to get busy. It just really inspired me. It's going to be a lot of people apologizing to me after this album drops; I don't think they understand what's about to happen.


AP: You've been in the game for about 25 years. What do you think your contributions are to hip-hop?

LL Cool J: First of all, I am the first solo rap artist period in the world to really blow up in hip-hop on the whole planet; that's one contribution, that's a starting point. I took my shirt off too, that's another starting point, but Melle Mel might have beat me to that (laughs). I introduced the big gold chains, the Champagne, the models, the diamonds, the (Mercedes) Benzs — I did all that on (1989's) "Walking With a Panther" and got eaten alive for the same things that they celebrate everybody for now. If you look at "Walking With the Panther" the album cover and you look at the front and back, I got crucified and persecuted for stuff people love now. So I bought that to the game: the diamonds, the ice, the flash. ... (Also) I made love songs a necessary part of any hip-hop album. Before I did it, if you did a love song, you was soft, corny, ridiculous, (but) once I go out and get stabbed up 95 times and make it OK. They tenderized me like a steak, stuck me with forks all over, then they come after and drop it, and it's OK.

AP: You were critical of Jay-Z's tenure as president of Def Jam. As you release "Exit 13," he is no longer in charge. How has that impacted the release of this album?

LL Cool J: As far as him leaving, it's not really relevant because I was already working on my record anyway. It was nothing he would have been able to do to stop it. It would have been what it was going to be either way. And I don't think he would have wanted to stop it.

AP: You've covered a lot of ground in your career, what else is there to do?

LL Cool J: I just want to do it bigger, bigger and bigger, and show people that anything is possible. I'm in a funny position because I'm the first guy that has to show people that hip-hop can keep going. Like, I don't have a rap artist in front of me to look at to say, "OK, what do you do when you're in your 25th year of your rap career?" Because most of the guys that are my age, they've only been out for 12 years, or 13 or 14 years max. The guys that people call veterans in hip-hop are like new guys to me. Let's take a guy like Nas. I love Nas; I respect Nas. He's from Queens and I love him, but Nas is like a new cat to me. You know what I'm saying? It's incredible to me, but I respect him as a legend and I respect him as a man. ... I just to make hot records; I want to give people hot music, and I just have to lead the way.

ATLANTA (AP) - The mother of two of T.I.'s children has sued the rapper for more child support, claiming she is having a hard time supporting the boys with the $2,000 a month he is providing.

Lashon Dixon, 29, and T.I., 27, have known each other since they were teenagers and dated before he reached rap megastar status. Their boys are ages 7 and 8. Click Here For More...

Dixon said she wants a court to order a stipend that is equal to the rapper's success. A telephone call and e-mail to T.I.'s publicist at Atlantic Records was not immediately returned Thursday.

T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris, is currently serving 1,000 hours of community service and will afterward serve a year in prison on federal weapons charges.

He also has two sons with his fiancee, Tameka "Tiny" Cottle, of the defunct R&B group Xscape. The couple also had a daughter who died shortly after childbirth in 2007.

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Police say they have arrested Kanye West at Los Angeles International Airport on suspicion of vandalism after an altercation with a photographer.

An airport spokesman says police also arrested West's road manager shortly before 8 a.m. on Thursday.

Airport spokesman Marshall Lowe says early reports are that West got into an altercation with a commercial photographer and a camera valued at more than $10,000 was broken.

The incident happened before West and his manager, who was not identified, cleared a security screening at the airport.

Lowe says police are continuing to interview witnesses and West may be booked later this morning.

Usher will become a father again. The R&B singer confirmed the baby rumors reported last week on Singersroom Monday.

Usher and his wife Tameka Foster are expecting their second child according to a soure within his camp. The couple welcomed their first child, Usher Raymond V, in November of 2007 and according to Usher since then his life has changed. "Having a child just completed the story. Rumors of his wife's pregnancy and separation surfaced last week after a Chicago Sun Times columnist said that the couple was separated and expecting a baby in December.

According to sources who attended Usher's performance at the NFL kick-off concert in New York last week, Foster was by Usher's side dismissing rumors that they were split up. Foster was however spotted wearing a belly-disguising outfit that according to PEOPLE magazine was "very deceiving, you couldn't tell she was pregnant when she was sitting down."

Usher married Tameka Foster, his former stylist last summer.

Trey Songz hit back at reports alleging that steroids were responsible for his new look, admist rumors of an engagement and wedding.

In a video posted recently, Songz and producer Troy Taylor dismiss rumors that steroids were responsible for Songz' new look. Mentioning his training schedule and time in the gym Songz says "I lost like six pounds" since his last visit. (video below)

In a letter sent earlier this month, Crowe pleaded with authorities to approve Snoop’s visa application, which is currently being reconsidered on character grounds.
The rapper, whose real name is Cordozar Calvin Broadus, has several criminal convictions for drug and weapons offences and was banned from Australia last year by then-Immigration Minister Kevin Andrews.
But Crowe, who has been friends with Snoop for three years, said the musician deserved to be allowed to perform here later this year.
“I submit to you that Snoop Dogg poses no threat to Australia or to any individual in this country,” Crowe wrote.

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Chris Brown was tied to two of the hottest women at the MTV Video Music Awards: Rihanna and Britney Spears.

Brown, who won best male video for "With You," wrote, "Disturbia," the song his rumored girlfriend Rihanna performed to open Sunday's show. The 19-year-old singer-songwriter is also crafting tunes Spears may record, he said.

"I actually wrote a couple songs for her now," Brown said, noting that Spears hadn't yet heard the new songs.

"We're on the same label, so all the executives heard the records and they love the records, so hopefully she'll cut it," he said. "But if she doesn't, oh well, we'll go back in the studio and still do some more records for her."

A witness to it all says:

“It was mayhem. Justin narrowly missed being punched in the face when a fan tried to take a photo of him on her camera, and his minder kicked off, screaming at the girl and snatching the camera off her to delete the pic. A huge commotion broke out with the fan’s male pals who tried to protect her. Fists were flying and JT was desperately trying to get out of the way.”
