As the hip-hop industry descends on Los Angeles for the 2008 BET Awards, rappers from all over have made their way around the city, hitting parties and media covered events.

When rivals are in the same space, sometimes conflict arises, and did so during a media day event held at the Shrine Auditorium on Monday (June 23) a day before the ceremony.

According to reports from the artist's camp, Akon's 20-year-old artist, Dolla, got into a minor scuffle with Florida rapper 2 Pistols, which resulted in 2 Pistols -- who has been enjoying success with his hit single "She Got It" featuring T-Pain -- being knocked out.

These words stuck with Dolla. When he ran into 2 Pistols during Monday's media event, Dolla claims he confronted the rapper, which escalated into a scuffle, resulting in 2 Pistols being knocked out by "a single jab," his camp claims.

2 Pistols tells a very different story. He claims the argument was over his hit single, "She Got It" featuring T-Pain, which Dolla allegedly felt was supposed to go to him first. The Florida rapper claims the argument ended, he walked away, and then was sucker-punched. When he tried to strike back (grabbing a chair in the process), he says cops grabbed him, and Dolla and his entourage fled in the vehicles.

DETROIT (AP) — The New York businessman known in the hip-hop world as "Jacob the Jeweler" faces more than three years in federal prison for lying to investigators looking into a multistate drug ring.

Jacob Arabov is to be sentenced Tuesday morning in Detroit federal court after pleading guilty in October to falsifying records and giving false statements. A plea agreement calls for him to serve up to 46 months and pay a $2 million penalty.

Arabov was arrested in June 2006 at his Manhattan jewelry shop. Authorities accused him and others of conspiring to launder about $270 million in drug profits.

Jacob laundered drug money for Jeezy's ex-associates BMF.

It’s official, R&B singer/actor Omarion has finalized a new recording deal with Timbaland’s Mosley Music Group.

What is Kanye West doing! This dude here steps into Souja Boy and Ice-T war of words. You need to know when to stay in your lane.

Kanye came to Souja Boy defense by stating on his blog "that song ["Crank That"] was so dope 'cause everything he said had a hidden meaning ... that's Nas level sh**. He went on and said, "Soulja boy is fresh ass hell and is actually the true meaning of what hip-hop is supposed to be. He came from the hood, made his own beats, made up a new saying, new sound and a new dance with one song. He had all of America rapping this summer. If that ain't hip-hop then what is"? But wait, this when Kanye step over the line and disrespect the OG's who pave the way by saying this; "a bunch of wannabe 'keep it real' rappers that ain't even relevant, recycling samples, trying to act like it's 96 again, and all they do is hate on new sh**?. N****s always talk about the golden age, but for a 13-year-old kid, this is the golden age!"

Wow!!!

"The Discovery Channel launched a new channel: 24-hour programming geared towards helping people become more eco-friendly," Ludacris explained. "So, they chose two opposites from the music world - rock n' roll and rap."

"It's just a set of events and just competitions where my team and Tommy's team are up against one another and are basically along for the ride," Ludacris continued. Mary J. Blige turned fairy godmother for one New York fan last week when she offered to help pay for a high-end designer dress.

The R&B star was shopping at the Diane Von Furstenberg store in downtown New York when she overheard a fellow customer complaining about the price of a dream dress she had put on hold.

At $900 the dress was $400 more than the cash-strapped shopper had expected, and so Blige stepped in to pay the difference.

The stunned buyer initially refused to accept Blige's help, but when the Family Affair hitmaker said, "I know what it's like to want something and not be able to have it," and insisted on buying the garment, the happy shopper bagged her dress and then asked for Blige's details so she could repay her. But the generous singer said, "Just enjoy it. I'm blessed, so let me do this," according to MTV News.

A judge set a Feb. 17, 2009, trial date in the lawsuit brought by Sonja Norwood, mother of R&B star Brandy, against sisters Kim, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian and their brother Robert Jr.
She has accused the well-to-do sibs of racking up more than $120,000 in unauthorized charges on her credit card in 2006 and 2007, when Kim was working as Brandy's stylist and dating the singer's brother Ray J.
The Kardashians have denied, "generally and specifically," every allegation in Norwood's suit, saying they had the woman's permission to shop spree-style. Norwood is seeking complete compensation for the charges, plus 10 percent interest.
A final status conference has also been set for Feb. 11. After that...it's trial time.

Dr. Shakur was a political prisoner, imprisoned for his revolutionary activities in the 1960s and 1970s, Dr. Shakur's story is not typical of those told on the show.

"I knew my father isn't the kind of gangster they had been doing stories about, but I thought that if my father suffers from all the consequences of being labeled and incarcerated as 'a gangster' by the system that at the very least he could benefit from his story being told," Mopreme explained of his reasons for working on the "American Gangster" series

Young Buck Response To 50 Cent

50 Cent Recorded Young Buck Phone Call:

source: AllHipHop.com
Not even 24 hours after 50 Cent leaked the full 16 minute conversation with Young Buck, the saga has now taken a Machiavellian twist, as Young Buck’s manager Blue Williams has accused 50 of “doctoring” the audio tape.

Yesterday, Buck released a diss track called “The Taped Conversation,” deriding 50 Cent as dishonest and questioning the loyalty of remaining G-Unit member Lloyd Banks.

Williams also said the tape is over a year old. “Just so that it is clear, this obviously edited and doctored recording was made from a phone conversation between Young Buck and 50 Cent-recorded and leaked by 50 Cent,” Williams told AllHipHop.com early this morning. “It was made over a year ago, the first time Buck was kicked out of G-Unit for being a man and communicating with people that 50 deemed his ‘enemies.’ You only hear one side of the conversation.”

Williams also dismissed any ideas that there will be a long, drawn-out verbal/physical war akin to The Game’s infamous battle with G-Unit.

“At this time, I have convinced Buck to take the higher road and not respond to the petty back and forth with an obviously scorned and angry man [50 Cent],” Williams told AllHipHop.com. “I am sure if need be there are plenty explosive G-Unit secrets that he could put out there from the inner workings of the crew, but he’s going to take the high road. He’s not interested in a pissing match with G-Unit because he’s moved on with his life since April, when he was kicked out the final time.”

With the full audio conversation being leaked on www.thisis50.com, fans have debated whether Buck’s authenticity as a street artist can still be accepted.

Many cite Buck’s deference to 50 and emotional laments in the audio as cause for concern.

“Everybody out here already knows what a real cat Buck is,” Williams clarified. “I don’t think anyone in the streets thinks Young Buck is soft-if anything, they know he’s real and he’s emotional. That’s what makes him such a great rapper. He’s a real man, thinking he was having a real conversation with 50 Cent, not someone who’d record it, doctor it up, and put it out a year later to try and build hype to sell a G-Unit compilation CD.”

Blue Williams is a well known and highly respected manager in the industry.

The veteran has successfully guided the careers of Nas, Outkast, and Nick Cannon.

And he expects to do the same with Young Buck but steering him away from a blood feud with his former camp.

“We are focusing on TV and film opportunities, touring, recording a super album, and continuing to build TennAKey Watches, Cashville Records, and David Brown clothing. Buck is a superstar and plans to show the world!”

50 Cent has not commented on the leak or comments from Buck’s camp at press time.

How many of ya'll remember "Soul Train"? "Soul Train" to your moms and pops was like MTV and BET is to us, but with a lil more soul.

The program, now airing in syndication, hasn't been in production since 2006.

"Soul Train" was founded in 1970 by Don Cornelius.

This past Thursday cooperating witness (snitch) Ralph "Ralphie" Simms testified in the federal case against BMF member Fleming "Ill" Daniels, implicating Young Jeezy as a recipient of cocaine in the form of kilos from BMF in the past as part of a plea bargain in hopes of a lighter sentence.

Simms provided detail surrounding Jeezy's "involvement" stating that in 2004 he was ordered by BMF higher ups Chad "J-Bo" Brown and Martez "Tito" Byrth to set aside numerous amounts of kilo's for 2 shipments one which was to be delievered to the self proclaimed "Snowman" / "Mr. 17.5".

Click Here For More...Young Jeezy's association to BMF has been well publicized in his music, videos and none more telling than when he showed support for imprisoned BMF leader Detrius "Big Meech" Flenory by donning an airbrushed t-shirt with Meech's likeness during his "I Luv It" performance at BET's 2006 Hip Hop Awards. Big Meech himself pleaded guilty in Detroit last November to running a Continuing Criminal Enterprise (CCE) after being charged under the RICO statute. He faces a minimum sentence of 20 years. Other BMF associates, including rapper Bleu DaVinci of the BMF Koch imprint have pleaded guilty over the past two weeks to conspiracy to distrubute narcotics and are currently awaiting sentencing.

Young Buck- F**k G-Unit

Monday, June 16, 2008 | | 0 comments »

While performing at a show over the weekend, former G-Unit member Young Buck shouted out, “F**k G-Unit!” then went on to explain his beef with 50 Cent:

“When I made the statement, ‘I ain’t never seen a royalty check,’ I didn’t say that sh** saying that the n**** 50 done took money from me or none of that ol’ sh**. I said it ’cause it’s real n****. When I say sh**, I mean the sh**. He took it a different way. I guess the n**** felt like I’m airing out family business or whatever.

He didn’t stop his rant there however. Buck continued on, letting 50 know his money can’t save him when he hits “rock bottom.

‘The n**** outta control … he feel like he got a whole lot until the n**** hit rock bottom and he got to crawl his ass back up,” explained Buck. “The different between me and a motherf***in’ 50 Cent is that I can hit the gutter n****. I can get back in the streets … on some real n**** sh** I can get right back out here — where all my people reside — and get money. I guarantee he couldn’t go back to his and do the same.’

Six years after being charged with making and starring in a child porn video, R&B superstar R. Kelly was found not guilty of all charges by a Cook County jury today.

Jurors deliberated for about three hours Thursday and part of today before reaching their verdicts. The jury cleared him on all 14 counts filed against him.

As the first "not guilty" was read, R. Kelly dipped his head and kept it bowed during the entire reading of the 14-count verdict.

When the reading was completed, he took a baby blue handkerchief from his pocket and dabbed the tears streaming down his face. He then bear-hugged defense attorneys Sam Adam Jr. and Ed Genson.

Kelly, who did not testify during his trial, faced up to 15 years in an Illinois prison.

When word of the verdict spread through the courthouse, some Cook County deputies -- as well as lawyers walking through the building's first floor hallways -- cheered.

Outside the courthouse, a huge roar came up from about 75 Kelly supporters.
